Established in 1970, Manukau Institute of Technology has its campus in Otara, Auckland and an additional eight specialised campuses throughout Auckland. Manukau comprises seven faculties and a school focusing on tertiary studies. The seven faculties cover subjects as diverse as Business, Culinary and Hospitality Studies, Creative Writing, Engineering and Automotive Technology. Manukau Institute of Technology (MIT) is a government institution with high quality degree, diploma, certificate and English programmes. All programmes at Manukau Institute of Technology are NZQA quality assured and bachelor degrees are equal status to university degrees. Every year over 20,000 students join a course at Manukau and this includes around 1,000 international students as well.
