Massey University is distinctive amongst New Zealand universities because of its ability to deliver research-led teaching and research training on three campuses in Auckland, Manawatu, and Wellington. Massey University has approximately 35,000 students, 17,000 of whom are extramural or distance-learning students, making it New Zealand's second largest university when not counting international students. The student body has a high percentage of international students coming from over 100 countries. It is the only university in New Zealand to offer courses on aviation, dispute resolution, veterinary medicine, and nanoscience.
