Tuition is invoiced and paid per semester before each semester starts (deadlines 1 June for autumn, 1 December for spring). The fee can be reimbursed if a student is prevented from commencing studies for verifiable special reasons; in that case deferment is offered first. Fees are repaid if the residence permit application is denied by the Swedish Migration Agency. A 5,000 SEK administrative repayment fee applies. Citizens of countries outside the EU/EEA admitted to studies lasting more than three months must apply for a residence permit for studies at the Swedish Migration Agency before coming to Sweden; stays under three months need no permit (some nationalities need an entry visa).
